Camping Check List
ESSENTIALS
- Backpack (internal or external frame)
- Sleeping bag (0 degrees or colder. Mummy bag is be
- Rain gear
- Water bottle (with water!)
- Hiking boots/shoes
- Fork, Knife, and Spoon
- Dish or bowl (plastic Cool Whip container works)
- Cup
Disposable eating/drinking utensils are NOT allow
- Something clean to sleep in
- Toothbrush, toothpaste

Soap, towel or Handiwipes
- Underwear (thermal underwear)
- Socks (wool socks, 4 pair)
- Change of clothes
- Windbreaker, jacket or sweatshirt (depending on weather)
- Boy Scout Handbook & pen (so you can get signed-off)
- Flashlight & batteries
- Hat scarf, mittens/gloves
- Boots rated -20degree or colder (waterproof)
- Emergency blanket
NICE TO HAVE
- Sleeping pad/air mattress or quilt to sleep on
- Small pillow
- Hand and Toe Warmers
- Personal first aid kit (see Second Class Scout Requirements)
- Pocket/Jack knife–Totin Chip required to carry a knife & regulation knifes only
- Folding camp stool/chair
- Blistex/Chapstick
- Extra socks, gloves, mittens
